“Although you are still single and you say you aren’t ready to enter into a serious relationship with a woman, you are able to efficiently evaluate your needs and expectations towards women. During the hearing, your parole officer underlined a strategy that was developed with the goal that would allow you to meet women in order to address your sexual needs.”

Step mother (Angela) and Father (Michael) are aware that the child is arriving at school soiled and fail to adequately address the concern… The child’s feet and hands are bright red, but it is unknown if this is as a result of the child being soaked in urine.”

Bathed in blood and gore, and unrelentingly aggressive, Brandon Cronenberg‘s Possessor is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. It is a singular work – one so ghastly, so unique, and so brutal that it will awe some and disgust others. It is a film about extinguishing humanity and embracing savagery. The philosophy of Possessor is one of carnage. Of cutting ties with the things that make you human, and reverting back to the predator within.

If inequality – not just in income but in influence as well as regulatory and criminal accountability – is a problem, the average media consumer knows by instinct what side of that problem the owners of major media companies represent. The average person, who is probably an illness away from bankruptcy, sees that Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos makes the median Amazon salary every nine seconds, the CEO of Disney makes 1,424 times what his line worker earns, Google has been parking profits in Ireland, and CNN busts its unions.
People in the media business underestimate, by a lot, the damage the last three years have done to their ability to reach not just Trump fans but non-Trump Republicans, independents, libertarians, Greens, and other groups. The latest fiascoes with Sanders double as confirmation for these people of their worst conclusions about media, and an additional insult that such goofball messaging is only now attracting the notice of some on the “other side. “
Is there a word for propaganda in reverse?

Upon arriving at the hamlet of Alto Terrón—situated in northwestern Panama and lacking both electricity and phone service—investigators found at least 15 people being tortured in a thatch-roofed structure belonging to a sect called “Nueva Luz de Dios” (New Light of God). The victims, including two pregnant women, were bound on the floor before a ritually slaughtered goat. At least one woman was naked, and had likely been raped. Meanwhile, some nine “priests” were exhorting the prisoners to accept “the word of God,” while striking them with knives and machetes.
Satanic rites. Child sacrifices. A messianic leader who slays his own family. These are the wicked and depraved parts of the story that have been making headlines throughout the hemisphere–the sensational angles that may give Trumpistas and Wall Builders fresh fuel for fearmongering, new talking points, under their breaths of course, about “savage brown people” south of the border.

But there’s another side to this tale that makes it even more Conradian, involving as it does traditional people’s cultural degradation, harsh economic conditions, and a hard-line, extremist version of Christianity exported to Panama straight from the good old U.S. of A.

Trump is then said to have complained about President Obama’s Iranian nuclear deal, and the length of the war in Afghanistan. Each time, his generals reportedly tried to gently explain why his view of these complex geopolitical issues might not be entirely accurate. It was reportedly during a conversation about Afghanistan that Trump blew his top.
The president reportedly called Afghanistan a “loser war,” and told his military leaders: “You’re all losers... You don’t know how to win anymore... I want to win... We don’t win any wars anymore... We spend $7 trillion, everybody else got the oil and we’re not winning anymore.” It’s reported that Trump was so angry at this point that he wasn’t breathing properly.
In his most incendiary comment, Trump—a man who, remember, managed to get out of military duty in Vietnam due to a supposed bone-spur problem—is said to have told the assembled forces: “I wouldn’t go to war with you people... You’re a bunch of dopes and babies.”

Chainsaws were invented to help with childbirth
Within the 50-page document, some of the 300 survivors recount their personal experiences of the childbirth operation which has been described as barbaric and cruel.
A symphysiotomy was a procedure carried out on pregnant women before, during or after birth in the place of a Caesarean Section. It involved breaking the patient’s pelvis and leaving it permanently enlarged.
The women, the majority of whom were in their early 20s and having their first child, have suffered chronic pain, incontinence, walking difficulties, sexual problems and other issues for their entire lives as a result.
One survivor described the experience of the chainsaw used to incise the pubic bone in pubiotomy (an even riskier but related surgery) as like being cut with broken glass.

In the video Golding, a Redondo Beach environmentalist, says he wants to open up the dolphin to see if it has ingested any plastics or balloons. Then he reaches into its body and tears out its heart. He cuts meat from its back and then slices off the dorsal fin.
“I’m a scavenger on ‘Naked and Afraid’ and I’m going to live up to what I do,” Golding says on the video. “I’m going to eat dolphin heart and dolphin back scrap. I don’t want it to go to waste. I’m going to nourish myself with it.”
Golding takes the pieces over to a grill and starts cooking them. “I’m on the beach in Southern California literally eating baby dolphin,” he says. “Never done that before and never seen that done before.”

The scandal erupted immediately after the publication on Jan. 2 of “The Consent,” a book written by Vanessa Springora, who recounts how she was manipulated by V., a powerful man in his 50s, when she met him at the age of 14 and got involved with him. She also recounts her disillusionment when she discovered that he had a habit of preying on young teenagers and practiced child sex tourism in Asia. Although Springora does not name Matzneff, she told local media that she was referring to him, their relationship and the entrapment she felt.

Pitt's first major role was in a film that has been almost entirely forgotten by time: The Dark Side of the Sun. Filmed in the former Yugoslavia and released in 1988, the drama centers on a young man named Rick who is deathly allergic to sunlight. After trying (and failing) to cure the disease with traditional medicine, Rick's father takes him over to then-Yugoslavia to meet a healer who might be able to help. This is where we'd normally put a spoiler warning, but it's a pretty obscure movie that isn't readily available to see – except for a handful of YouTube clips. In the end, Rick – unable to find a cure – decides he's tired of living his life in a rubber suit and gimp mask (!), so he heads down to the beach to feel the sun on his skin for the first time. And then the sun kills him.

Aboard Air Force One on his way back from his holiday trip to Florida, Mr. Trump reiterated to reporters the spirit of a Twitter post on Saturday, when he said the United States government had identified 52 sites for retaliation against Iran if there were a response to Maj. Gen. Qassim Suleimani’s death. Some, he tweeted, were of “cultural” significance.
Such a move could be considered a war crime under international laws, but Mr. Trump said Sunday that he was undeterred.
“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people,” the president said. “And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesn’t work that way.”
The president threatened Iran over potential retaliation for the death of a top general, and Iraq over the potential expulsion of United States troops.

A police report by State Trooper Geraldine L. Bresnahan states that Crime Scene Services’ attending physician Dr. Michael Zhou “offered a preliminary opinion that (the victim) was presented with multiple broken bones in (her) nose and eye area, and numerous lacerations and puncture wounds on (her) head and face.” Zhou did not consider the injuries life-threatening.In the victim’s version of events, Hachiyanagi arrived at her home unannounced stating she “wanted to talk about her feelings,” Bresnahan’s report reads. After being invited inside, Hachiyanagi allegedly attacked the woman, striking her with “multiple implements” including “fists, rocks, garden clippers and a fire poker.” All items were recovered by investigators.

“Stemming from a perverse fascination with (and perhaps disdain for) women who appear in pornography, anonymous internet users (‘trolls’) congregate on online forums such as PornWikiLeaks.com, NameThatPorn.com, and Schan.net, to identify these women by name and glean personal information about them,” Enright wrote. “The trolls share the information they find—including a model’s name, biographical information, links to her social media accounts, and other contact information—on the forum, and then the harassment begins. Armed with the woman’s social media and contact information, some trolls spend their time sending links to her video to people connected to her on social media. Other trolls contact the models personally to attack, bully, and shame them, or to comment on their videos and proposition them.”

He also allegedly entered an “intimate relationship” with a high school senior who joined a debate team he coached. Invictus abused her over several years, she told police. In one incident, he allegedly slapped and punched her in the head and strangled her. In another, he allegedly punched her, dragged her into a closet by her hair, and strangled her until she lost consciousness. When she awoke, Invictus was allegedly holding a gun to her head and ordered her to “tell me why I shouldn’t kill you right now.” The woman also told police of alleged sexual violence, and a calendar event titled “annihilate [the woman’s name]” in which Invictus implied he would expose her personal information.

COME SEE WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT
still unpacking thoughts on JOKER. finally settled on the conclusion of it being a movie i would've dreamed of at age twenty, when i used to spend a chunk of my time brainstorming ways to synergize a childhood love of superhero comics with my post-adolescent devotions to cult cinema, obscure horror movies, violent arthouse films, sketchy urban legends, serial killer lore, and ironic needledrops.
and yet with JOKER being a near-perfect encapsulation of all my life's greasepit obsessions being hailed as zeitgeist-redefining cultural touchstone (though seemingly only because those themes have been trojan-horsed inside a lucrative intellectual property with major studio funding), i feel less validated than ever... my own creative ventures struggling to break even into the most remote margins of relevant discourse.
