Cops: Mastic Man Arrested After Choking Girlfriend To Death
A man was arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder this weekend after allegedly choking and killing his girlfriend in the home they shared.
According to Suffolk County Police, Saturday around 11 a.m., 35-year-old Justin Miller and his girlfriend, Teresa Heredia, 29, both of 26 Bullard St. in Mastic, were having a heated verbal exchange that led to a physical altercation. Cops say Miller choked Heredia to death, while the couple’s seven-month-old child was home. He called his sister who called authorities.
Officers arrived at the residence and found Heredia unconscious. She was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue and pronounced dead.
Police took Miller into custody. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
The couple’s seven-month-old child was not injured and was released to a relative.

Twist ending;
I went to high school with the girl in this article.
she was held back a year and hanged with the "thug" kids. but she was otherwise a pretty nice girl. i mean maybe she was... i don't remember getting any crap from her. There were even moments when she looked kinda cute.
in any event, she was alright, and even if she wasn’t I can’t imagine anything she could have done that would necessitate getting strangled to death by the father of her child.. within the vicinity of said child...in the home they all shared. the more i ruminate on this... the more it genuinely distresses me. is it because i knew her? the senselessness of it? that i haven't left the house in two days?
choose life... i guess.
