We Are The Sprocket Holes vol. 473

stand-out viewing for the shower grime soup kitchen that was June.

(May)

COME TRUE (2020, dir. Anthony Scott Burns)

FFO The Nightmare, Beyond the Black Rainbow, aforementioned "not-a-vampire" vampire movies.

keep sucking dick for a Cinemageddon membership, you grey market doofus.

pretty amazing that a glorified superhero movie from the dawn of Nu-Metal got y'all thinking we're a dream inside a space robot or whatever.

gotta be the wildest shit on HBOMAX.

starts out as fairly levelheaded and sobering take on the pacifist-struggles-with-feelings-of-revenge narrative, but closes out affairs with a level of ceaselessly troubling brutality that makes the more consistently severe offerings in this genre seem like their holding back.

I START COUNTING (1969, dir. David Greene)

really think you can trace the DNA of films like Heavenly Creatures, Fun, and Don't Deliver us From Evil back to this nasty lil' charmer.

RELAXER (2018, dir. Joel Potrykus)

like sweating sour milk.

SIBERIA (2019, dir. Abel Ferrara)

Ferrara goes ahead and makes an honest-to-god surrealist horror film.

THE STYLIST (2020, dir. Jill Gevargizan)

could've maybe used just a bit more time on the backstory of the titular Stylist, but other than that it fits real snug between Maniac and May.

SUPER DARK TIMES (2017, dir. Kevin Philips)

fun with weapons.
